This month’s favorite things are all things I’ve loved so far in the pregnancy journey!
If you missed any of my past lists, be sure to check them out here: August, September, November, December
I have had trouble sleeping pretty much since the end of my first trimester (…when I slept like a rock all.the.time.). I tried propping myself with pillows, drinking warm milk, doing yoga before bed, and a bunch of other stuff but nothing has helped as much as the pregnancy pillow that my amazing hubby ordered and had delivered to our door. I still wake up to switch sides and of course go to the bathroom, but my quality of sleep is so much better and I am not in pain when I wake up anymore! Some people can get away with just a regular body pillow (and try it out before you spend the money on a pregnancy pillow!)…but I am apparently not one of those people. I love my pregnancy pillow…it takes up a large portion of our bed, though. So be aware of that if you are looking into one!
There are several styles out there. This one fit my needs best (back support, making me feel like I am on my back since I’m usually a back sleeper and supporting the bump and my legs) so this is the one we got!

Maternity leggings. Like wearing sweats, but you look cute. I’m loving the legging and tunic/dress look right now – it’s easy, it’s comfy and I can stretch and easily play on the floor with the kiddos. I got mine (on sale!) at Kohls, but there’s many to choose from out there. I do love these because they are easy to put on (which is becoming more and more important…) and the full panel stays put and doesn’t itch or irritate my skin.

I thought I drank a lot of water pre-pregnancy, but I have found that I have to drink at least 120oz in order to stay hydrated. To keep up with all that liquid, I tend to drink out of either my Contigo Tumbler or my CamelBak. The tumbler is nice because it seals when you take the straw out, so mixing things into my water is easy. If we are leaving the house, I grab my CamelBak so I can throw it in whatever bag we are taking with us and not worry about leaks.
The other thing that has been getting me through this journey of growing a small human is prenatal yoga – I haven’t gone to any public classes (yet!), but there are so many DVDs and YouTube videos out there! My daily yoga routine took a pretty major hit during the first trimester and I’ve spent much of this second trimester trying to get back to it. Ideally I like to start my day with yoga, as well as fit in a quick 10 or 15 minute session around lunchtime. And of course it’s a great relaxation technique before bedtime.
My playlist on YouTube is pretty varied, so that I can just play a video that fits in the time limit I have. That way I have no excuses. The videos in this series as well as this space-creating flow are some of my favorites.
I also just discovered Burt’s Bee’s Mama Bee Body Oil with Vitamin E … amazing for itchy, stretching skin!! The doctor even commented about how hydrated my skin was at my last appointment!
