Week 25
Baby BOY Seeley (known as Seelster to us) is about nine inches long and 1.5-2 lbs – about the size of a baseball glove or a cabbage (according to my pregnancy app Ovia) .
Movement
I started feeling this little man move a couple days before Christmas! It didn’t feel like butterflies – more like kicks and strong waves, all in the center and the very bottom of my bump.
Labor Signs
None
Sleep
My hips are starting to bother me more at night, so I am constantly switching sides. However, because of my lovely preggo pillow I can get propped enough to still get rest.
Food Cravings
It has changed a little – for the longest time, I just wanted peppermint-y things and I started not wanting fruit and only wanting veggies (backwards for me!).
Kix Cereal
Breakfast Sandwiches
Poptarts (brown sugar!!)
Bojangles…which I will only get if I drive to North Carolina…
Food Aversions
For a long time, just the smell or thought of lunch meat would make me sick to my stomach. That’s pretty much gone, and nothing really stands out aversion-wise. Every once and awhile something I usually like will just sound nasty, but nothing consistent.
Symptoms
Light swelling, pain in my feet
Hip pain
Tailbone pain (and lower back)
Headaches/Migraines
Forgetfulness
Blurred Vision
…it’s worth it though! I feel like I’m whining, listing those out!
Wedding Ring – on or off?
On (although some days recently I’ve had to take it off)
Belly Button – in or out?
Mostly out, but not all the way yet!
What I miss
Sleeping on my back without waking up (ha-ha, I know)
Having an occasional adult beverage
Not feeling like I’m going to lose it emotionally all the time
Having a memory!
What I’m loving
Feeling the baby move
Letting the baby “listen” to music and feeling him move
Getting to know this pregnant version of my body/self
Watching hubby get more and more excited about being a dad
The sweet gifts people gave us over the holidays
Washing baby clothes for the first time!
Hearing the kiddies I take care of talk to and about my baby
Still feeling cute and pregnant, not huge and pregnant. 🙂
Exciting Moments in the last month
Telling everyone that we are having a boy!
Feeling Little Man move!
Feeling him react to a loud noise at church a couple weeks ago!
Getting lots of awesome things from family and friends for baby!
Experiencing the Christmas season and the start of a New Year as a momma to be was amazing. It was such a special time, and I know next year will be even more sweet!
Thoughts on the last month
I feel as though I have begun to finally get my mojo back. I was so thrown by this pregnancy and I didn’t take care of myself all that well right away, so getting back to it has taken time. I actually like being pregnant now – I didn’t so much before! I am starting to learn how to dress my bump, and I actually feel like being pregnant is making me more confident. I voice my thoughts and opinions at times when in the past I would have remained silent. I stick to my guns more instead of changing to go with others. I am more easy going in some respects (and in others my super crazy, over-achiever, planner brain gets hopped up on hormones and I drive my husband insane). Hubbs and I are having more conversations about baby, what our family will look like, how we want to parent, and have started on the nursery. I am getting so excited to meet this little one, and I know that he will make me a better person. He already has. Being pregnant has allowed me to learn more about myself than I ever thought!
Aunt Patti says
Wedding ring problem…..Kathleen purchased a nice cheap $10 ring during pregnancy because she couldn’t wear hers. Probably because she was visiting with clients and in the public she wanted others to know!! 🙂 Enjoy! I;m ready for a road trip. Tell your mom!!
Anna says
I may have to do that at some point! And yes, road trip! 😀
Aunt Tammy says
There are Bojangles in KY & TN. Road trip!!!!!!!!
Glad you are feeling so good! You look beautiful! You make pregnant look good. I can’t wait to meet my little great nephew. Wow, that makes me sound so old. I still remember what it felt like to hold baby Josh and sing him to sleep. Bubba loved Amazing Grace at 3 in the morning and he was fine if I couldn’t quite remember the right words in the middle of the night.
Love you!!
Anna says
Aw, thank you! I will have to remember to try Amazing Grace at 3am, then! I’ll let ya know how it goes. 😉
Marley says
Girl, If I could mail you Bojangles and it would still be okay to eat, I would! I keep wishing I could get some delicious Roys Taco House! We are so extremely excited for baby Seeley. You are looking wonderful!
