It’s so important to plan time to spend with your signigicant other. Hubbs and I are making date night more of a priority as part of our committment to live a more restful life. Planning dates can be something both people take part in, and when you plan ahead of time it removes the endless circle of “What do you want to do?” “I don’t know, what do you want to do?” (…You know what I’m talking about!) So set aside a night that works for both of you, get a babysitter if you need one, and spend some time together!
1) Go to a pool or water park (without the kids, you parents!)
2) Book a hotel in your town or the next town over and get away for just the night.
3) Pretend you’re tourists, and explore your town together.
4) Go to the farmer’s market.
5) Find a festival or fair near you and check it out.
6) Light some fireworks (think sparklers, unless you live somewhere where it’s legal to light off some heavier duty ones!)
7) Cook Out for two (break out the grill and show off your skills!)
8) Pack a picnic, head somewhere quiet and pretty, and make a summer bucket list. (Check out Unveiled Wife’s post about the importance of a summer bucket list.)
9) Summer Themed Cooking Challenge (post on how we made this happen coming soon!).
10) Play a backyard game together (anybody else REALLY want to play paint twister??)
11) Find a way to serve your community together
12) Work on a project or build something together (paint something, plant something, make something, re-do an outdoor space…)
